My Will Hunting Challenge begins. The foundational course in the MIT Computer Science major, Introduction to Computer Science and Programming in Python, is available on OpenCourseWare (MIT's Massive Open Online Course platform), so that's where my journey will start.

The textbook was not available through my local library, nor via Inter-Library Loan. That came as no surprise, but it does mean that I have already exceeded the $1.50 in late fees Will Hunting cited as the cost of obtaining an education on one's own, before my challenge even starts. Still, the cost of a used textbook or two is well within the spirit of the challenge.

I know the curriculum will get more difficult and introduce many unfamiliar concepts, but I expect this introductory course to offer minimal difficulty--I aced Intro to Computer Science in college, and I've been using Python professionally for just about two years. Even the MIT version of Introduction to Computer Science and Programming in Python should be mostly a review for me, with just a sprinkling of new information. Famous last words? I'll let you know in the days and weeks to come.
