About Me
Hello! My engineering superpower lies at the intersection of code and communication. With 3 years of commercial production experience building AI-integrated, database-driven enterprise applications, I specialize in Python, Django, and PostgreSQL, with full-stack fluency in JavaScript, Node.js, and React.
My coding journey started when I taught myself Basic at eight years old. That foundation in coding and logic stuck with me through college, where I completed a Computer Science course and tutored symbolic logic. However, before dedicating my career entirely to software engineering, I spent 13 years leading large-scale talent development initiatives and securing cross-functional alignment within the healthcare and financial industries.
Systems Engineering, By Evolution
That talent development background is my greatest technical asset. Managing enterprise organizational development programs requires the exact same systemic thinking as software development. I quickly realized my instructional design methodologies perfectly mapped to the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with requirements analysis, design, development, implementation/deployment, and evaluation tasks. Both disciplines also lean heavily on Agile methodologies. Finally, my experience in talent development made me an expert at aligning stakeholders and communicating technical ideas clearly.
My pivot into engineering wasn't a sudden career shift. It was a natural technical evolution. Today, that operational maturity ensures I don't just write scripts; I build solutions that align with clients' needs, secure sensitive corporate data, and translate business logic into code that scales.
Production Impact
In my most recent role at Bruce Clay, Inc., I shipped full-stack features for a public-facing, AI-powered content creation suite that slashed content creation costs by 67%. I refactored a legacy UI to optimize mobile responsiveness—driving a 20%increase in mobile engagement—and engineered an automated analytics integration hub that cut cross-platform reporting timelines by 80%. I also stabilized and optimized a legacy Elixir/Phoenix codebase, resolving 100+ compilation warnings and reducing system compile times by 70%.
I am highly targeted toward software and AI engineering roles within high-growth, mission-driven sectors that value deep data integrity, user enablement, and knowledge management—particularly EdTech, Elearning, Social Justice, and HealthTech SaaS environments.
Code, Systems, and Philosophy
When I'm not writing code, I enjoy tabletop gaming and martial arts. I currently practice ninjutsu, a martial art that directly influences my engineering philosophy: execute with absolute precision, adapt fluidly to changing system constraints, and leave every single codebase cleaner and more secure than I found it.
