About Me
Hello! As a mid-level Software Engineer and former Talent Development leader, I operate at the intersection of code and communication. With 3 years of production experience building AI-integrated, database-driven web apps, I specialize in Python, Django, and PostgreSQL—but I'm also fluent in JavaScript, Node.js, and React.
My coding journey started when I taught myself Basic at eight years old. In college, I dabbled in coding by taking a Computer Science course and tutoring symbolic logic, but I only really took the plunge after working in talent development for over a decade.
Before shifting into engineering, I spent 13 years in Talent Development—leading complex training initiatives in healthcare and finance. That experience honed my ability to think systemically, align stakeholders, and communicate technical ideas clearly. I realized I thought like a developer: mapping ADDIE to SDLC, spotting parallels with Agile, and continuously improving systems based on user feedback and data. That mindset made the transition to software engineering feel less like a leap—and more like a natural evolution.
In my most recent role at Bruce Clay, Inc., I shipped full-stack features that reduced content creation costs by 67%, improved mobile engagement by over 20%, and accelerated internal reporting by automating cross-platform data integration. I also stabilized a legacy Elixir codebase. I'm especially interested in roles at the intersection of engineering, learning, and user enablement, such as Ed Tech or L&D platforms. But I'm excited by any mission-driven work that values thoughtful design, collaboration, and real impact.
When I'm not writing code, I enjoy tabletop gaming and martial arts. I currently practice ninjutsu, which makes me—literally—a coding ninja. I believe in shipping fast, learning fast, and leaving every codebase better than I found it.
If that sounds like the work you do, let's connect.
